About the "Making a Difference" Series

Lakehead University does not only provide us with well rounded academic education, but connects us, as students, to things greater than ourselves.  As a student in the ORPT program, there is an opportunity to contribute to the greater community and create meaningful change.  Ideas are actualized in outdoor recreation: a kayaking expedition on Lake Superior becomes a research journey with lasting benefits; students with a vision for sustainability end up harnessing a campus wide energy to establish a green movement; a passionate paddler embarks on a journey across Canada which evolves into an effort to spread a conservation message that resonates with real life meaning.

Here in ORPT, you are not one student.  You stand upon a support system which reaches wider than the faculty, your peers and the university itself.  The students who have passed through this program have had their potential acknowledged and respected, and because of this, they have been truly involved in MAKING A DIFFERENCE.
